lauren rogers

Contemporary Australian Indigenous Artist with ancestral blood lines to Ngarabal Nation, Lauren is a self-taught artist who began painting at a very young age and has always loved creating!

Art is an important platform for Lauren to share Indigenous culture and hopes her art stirs your imagination and curiosity. Lauren’s hopes are for people to connect with the stories and meaning behind her work to learn about First Nations’ culture, history, stories and language.

Lauren’s artistic vision and inspiration come from the changing landscapes from her adventures around Country. Lauren uses layers of fine dotting, line work, colour gradients, and Aboriginal symbolism/iconography and enjoys painting her works intuitively. Lauren loves to use bright colours that show extreme contrast, and capture the imagination. Most people would recognise Lauren’s work through her canvases’ vibrant colours and intricate details.

Lauren’s paintings often work between abstract landscape and aerial perspectives. Through her artworks, she connects to her ancestral and cultural ties and hopes to share and help educate her community on First Nations’ culture.

Lauren will also be teaching a workshop: Painting Native Flowers as part of the Deepwater Art Show program. Find out more and buy tickets here.
